Where to Play Online Blackjack
Cafe and Ignition offer familiar deck choices. BetUS separates games by provider, while MyBookie adds specialty versions. Check the rules of the exact game you open.
Cafe Casino
Compare Single Deck, Double Deck and European Blackjack, each with practice access. The dealer rules differ, so open the exact title you intend to play.
Ignition Casino
Use Undo or Clear All to fix the wager before dealing. Double Deck allows one split per round and resets both decks after each round.
BetUS
Nucleus and Betsoft games have separate labels, even when the titles sound alike. Compare their Single Deck and European versions without mixing up the rules.
MyBookie Casino
Play conventional blackjack or try Super 7, 21 Burn and Pirate 21. Optional bets cost extra and may need a different strategy from the main hand.
Single Deck, Double Deck or European?
Cafe Casino publishes these as four separate software games. Each pays 3:2 on a natural and reshuffles after the hand, but the dealer rules and betting limits differ.
Soft 17 means an Ace counts as 11 in a total of 17, such as Ace + 6. A dealer who stands keeps that hand; a dealer who hits must take another card.
Classic Single Deck
One starting hand; no surrender.
Single Deck
Two split hands maximum; no surrender.
Double Deck
No surrender; split aces receive one card.
European Blackjack
Double only hard 9, 10 or 11; no surrender.
Check the exact title. Classic Single Deck and Single Deck have different maximum bets. Cafe’s Double Deck description mentions two starting hands, but its rule list says one. Check the game’s active hand positions before setting your total stake.
European Blackjack takes the dealer’s second card after your decisions. Check whether a dealer blackjack also loses any extra money you added by splitting or doubling. Use the strategy for that dealing rule, not an American chart.
An Ace plus a ten-value card on the original deal is a natural. Ordinary winning hands, including 21 made after a split, normally pay even money. With other rules unchanged, moving from 3:2 to 6:5 adds about 1.39 percentage points to the house edge.
Same Total, Different Decision
A 16 made from 10 + 6 is not played the same way as 8 + 8 or Ace + 5. Identify the hand first, then look at the dealer’s visible card.
A soft hand has an Ace counted as 11 without busting. An Ace counted as 1 does not make the hand soft. Ordinary strategy does not treat every 16 as the same hand.
Basic Strategy You Can Read While You Play
Basic strategy tells you the move with the best expected result, not which hand will win. Match the rules first, then open the hard hands, soft hands or pairs below.
Rules for this strategy reference
For conventional 4–8 deck, 3:2 games: dealer stands on soft 17 and checks for blackjack before player decisions; double on any initial two cards; double after split allowed. Late surrender is optional as explained below.
Not for single deck, double deck, European no-hole-card games or specialty versions. Those need a strategy matched to their own rules.
Start here: check surrender, then a pair, then a soft or hard total. “10” includes a Jack, Queen or King. Double applies only while you have two cards.
Surrender first: hard 15 vs 10, or hard 16 vs 9, 10 or Ace. Do not surrender a pair of eights under these S17 assumptions. If surrender is unavailable, use the hand decisions below. Late surrender is not a way to cancel a completed hit or split.
Hard totals: 4 to 21
| Your hand | Decision against dealer upcard |
|---|---|
| 4–8 | Hit. |
| 9 | Double vs 3–6; otherwise hit. |
| 10 | Double vs 2–9; otherwise hit. |
| 11 | Double vs 2–10; hit vs Ace. |
| 12 | Stand vs 4–6; otherwise hit. |
| 13–16 | Stand vs 2–6; otherwise hit. Check surrender first. |
| 17–21 | Stand. |
Soft totals: hands with an Ace counted as 11
| Your hand | Decision against dealer upcard |
|---|---|
| 12 · A,A only when splitting is unavailable | If drawing is allowed: double vs 6; otherwise hit. Follow any rule ending split-ace hands. |
| 13–14 · A,2 / A,3 | Double vs 5–6; otherwise hit. |
| 15–16 · A,4 / A,5 | Double vs 4–6; otherwise hit. |
| 17 · A,6 | Double vs 3–6; otherwise hit. |
| 18 · A,7 | Double vs 3–6; stand vs 2, 7 or 8; hit vs 9, 10 or Ace. |
| 19–21 | Stand. |
Pairs: splitting or keeping the total
| Your hand | Decision against dealer upcard |
|---|---|
| A,A and 8,8 | Split against every upcard. |
| 2,2 and 3,3 | Split vs 2–7; otherwise hit. |
| 4,4 | Split vs 5–6; otherwise hit. |
| 5,5 | Use hard 10; do not split. |
| 6,6 | Split vs 2–6; otherwise hit. |
| 7,7 | Split vs 2–7; otherwise hit. |
| 9,9 | Split vs 2–6, 8 or 9; otherwise stand. |
| Ten-value pair | Stand; do not split. |
When a move is unavailable: hit instead of a hard-total Double. For soft totals, use the fallback in the soft-hands table. After reaching a split limit, use the resulting hard or soft total unless a split-ace rule ends the hand. Basic strategy declines Insurance and Even Money.
What changes when the dealer hits soft 17?
With the same multiple deck assumptions but H17, also double hard 11 vs Ace, soft 18 vs 2 and soft 19 vs 6. If those soft doubles are unavailable, stand.
When late surrender is offered, additionally surrender hard 15, hard 17 and a pair of eights against a dealer Ace. These changes are not a chart for single deck H17 games.
For other deck counts, use the single deck strategy or double deck strategy from Wizard of Odds. Its rule-based strategy calculator covers other combinations.
How a $5 Hand Can Become $20
Splitting and doubling add money to the round. The number on your first bet is only the starting amount.
This example assumes one split followed by a full double on each hand, where the rules allow. Set the first stake so any extra bets still fit the budget you already chose.
Check the Whole Bet Before Deal or Repeat
Super 7: count the main hands and side bets
Super 7 separates the optional sevens wager from the main hand. Check each occupied betting position and the total before repeating the round. Winning a side bet and winning the blackjack hand are separate results.
Betsoft blackjack: set the wager before Deal
Choose a chip, place the bet and read the total. The game shows euros here, so check the currency as well as the amount. Hit and Stand appear after the deal, not while you are placing chips. Use the information control to read the game rules.
Nucleus and Betsoft titles can sit beside each other in the same casino. Check the Nucleus game selection by the exact title, and read the loaded rules rather than assuming a shared name means a shared version. The casino handles bonus eligibility and withdrawals; the provider label identifies the game software.
Practice the Decisions, Not a Winning Streak
Use practice play to learn where the active hand, total wager and rules sit. Compare decisions with the correct chart, not just the practice balance. A short winning run does not establish the game’s return or prove a counting system.
A fresh deck does not erase your decisions
Cafe’s conventional games and Ignition’s Double Deck reset after each hand or round. Cards from previous rounds do not leave a depleted shoe for the next deal. You still choose Hit, Stand, Double or Split under the rules.
Repeat is not always the same button
Cafe’s Single Deck lists Rebet and Rebet X2. The first repeats the amount; the second doubles it. Check the resulting stake before starting another round.
Side bets need their own paytable
Perfect Pairs, Super 7 and other optional wagers are not included in the main hand’s strategy. A published blackjack return should not be treated as the return on an added side bet. Specialty games such as 21 Burn also need their own rules and decision guide.
A win in the game is not a completed withdrawal
Hand settlement updates the game balance. Withdrawing that balance is a separate cashier request, with its own checks and limits. Compare withdrawal conditions before relying on money leaving the account.
Check Blackjack Bonus Eligibility by Game
A game you prefer with cash may not suit an active bonus. Cafe’s general terms publish the following contribution rates, with exceptions and prohibited-play rules. Open the specific promotion before accepting it.
Check the permitted game, wagering basis, maximum wager and expiry. A disabled betting option and a bonus restriction are different problems. Do not use a game excluded from wagering to work around the terms, or assume canceling a bonus preserves the winnings. Read how bonus restrictions affect cashouts.
Online Blackjack Questions
The useful answers depend on the game you have opened, not just the casino name.
Is software blackjack the same as live dealer blackjack?
No. Software blackjack deals digital cards under the game’s rules. Live blackjack streams a physical dealer and cards. The format alone does not tell you the natural payout, dealer rules or house edge.
Is single deck blackjack always the best version?
No. Compare the complete rules, including the natural payout, soft 17, doubling, splitting and surrender. A single deck label does not tell you whether cards carry over between rounds.
Can I count cards if the game reshuffles after each hand?
No useful running count carries over when the deck resets after every hand. Cafe’s listed conventional games describe that reset. The previous round does not leave the next round with fewer low or high cards.
Why does Double disappear after I press Hit?
In games that allow doubling only on the first two cards, pressing Hit ends that option for the hand. Double adds another equal stake and gives you just one more card. Game rules or too little money available for the extra bet can also make it unavailable.
Does 21 after splitting aces pay 3:2?
Not in the conventional games compared here. The 3:2 payment is for a qualifying natural on the original deal. A winning Ace plus ten-value card after a split normally pays even money.
Does the strategy guide cover every casino game?
No. It is for conventional four to eight deck games paying 3:2, where the dealer stands on soft 17 and checks for blackjack before your decisions. It also assumes doubling on any initial two cards and after a split. Single deck, double deck and other dealing rules require different strategy.
Can I practice before playing for real money?
Practice links are published for the named Cafe games and several BetUS titles. Availability can depend on the game and location. Practice helps with rules and controls, but practice credits cannot be withdrawn.
Does blackjack count toward bonus wagering?
It depends on the game and promotion. Cafe’s general terms list ordinary blackjack at 10%, Double Deck at 2%, and the two named single deck games at 0%. Play that contributes nothing may also be prohibited; read the active promotion before playing.
Is a $5 bet always the most I can lose on that round?
No. A split adds another stake and a full double adds a stake to the affected hand. A $5 hand can become $20 committed if it is split once and both resulting hands are doubled, where permitted. Side bets add separate costs.
Does a 3:2 payout prove the game is fair?
No. It tells you what a qualifying natural pays, not whether the software or operator has been independently verified. Check the provider, full rules and any verifiable testing information. A short sequence of wins or losses is not proof either way.
Choose the Game Before You Choose the Stake
Cafe Casino is a useful starting point for comparing Single Deck and Double Deck. Try the controls, check the dealer rule and use the strategy for that version. Keep any split or double bets inside the same session budget.
